How the Busyman Started
We started out in business due to the Ministry of Education closing down the schools in South Canterbury. I was on the Seadown school committee and over the Christmas holidays the lawns, grass and weeds grew to about half a meter tall.
So the committee wrote to the Ministry to let them know this problem and they sent down a representative to discuss the issue. They thought the caretakers would continue maintaining the grounds, but Seadown’s maintenance was kept up by the local community, volunteers. So the Ministry asked who could continue maintaining the grounds, and I said, I could.This is basically how The Busyman got underway.
From there I got other school grounds and it grew into property maintenance via referrals, word of mouth.
